What would do well in this tank and is it big enough/ and species problems so far

A 440g for a GG is great but that's as far as my advice goes unfortunately because I have no clue about FRT's.

A quick Google search, not always the best I know, suggests they can get very big, and very heavy, as do GG's, so bio load would be substantial I suspect.

If that's the case I suspect the pair of them, as adults, even in your 440, could look a little cramped in years to come.

As far as compatibility goes, again, I know nothing regarding the "moods" of FRT's. Though I do know GG's have the potential to be quite aggressive.

If you do pull the trigger on this combo be prepared to be in it for the long haul, because they can both be extremely long lived too.
