I got a bunch of those totes layaing around and had the same idea,guess a not so feasible one now.

I saw some heavy duty totes at home depot this week that looked like they would flex alot less than the regular ones.Still,probably not stiff enough to do a window though.Make a better sump than a regular rubbermaid though.

those totes are possible.. you just have to build a box around them to stop them bowing. They also make great base to hold the 3 drawer system to make a sump out of.

i agree if your watching craigslist or a trading post magazine. you may only save like 20 dollars or so.
this is assuming you dont have a store that carries some kind of huge bin over 40 gallons..
