what would work for me???

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
they will move along the bottom, but wouldn't say they are very active. I would add some larger tetras or small cichlids to keep the middle of the tank active though. I'd use some Buffaloheads or kribs to stay on the African theme

i would rather have the ropefish over the bichirs,my tank is a all white sand, with grey rocks and a black backround so any albinoe fish or brown fish or even black would get lost in there, but this african b.f. fish what is that look like i never heard of it??

I was advising you to get both. But considering the conditions, something else should be in order.

They move around here and there, but generally act like Bichirs. ABFs are pretty much Mini-Arowanas, they only get to about 4-6 inches. They are surface dwellers and will likely complement the Ropefish.

so then what do you guys think about this group of fish( 2 ropefish,1ABF, 5 small africian cichlids (to cover the med lvl) so thats 8 fish i would like about 4-5 more maybe a few giant danios?? to give the tank alot of movement. its a 75g tank so i should be fine for all those fish.

im plannin on the last 5 fish will be all G.danios only cause i like to watch them go, i had a bichir for like 3yrs. it got pretty big before it died , but i want a reedfish instead this time so im buying 2 of 'em

Rope fish are quite active but they do rest at night and it looks like they're dead :grinno: but some big giant danios would be ok 3-4'' but I think goodeids or some agressive tetras like buenos aire
