That’s awesome! I have 10 from TUIC so they’re around 2.5 years old and 2 pairs are spawning. They grow so damn slow as mine are around 4 1/2’ to 6 1/2”.

Dan definitely had some of the best Vieja in the business. I still have 9 melanura from him.

Nice fish! My heterospila are about the same size so probably around the same age. Your Melanura look great I assume those are the lago Peten strain as well by the looks of them. How old are your Melanura? I have no idea how old mine are, so I’m a little worried they’re not producing anymore but time will tell. I really want to keep that line going, you just can’t find Melanura that quality anymore.

I've had similar experiences with fry, and I’ve found that gradual acclimation tends to work best.
