What would you do with 100 gallon tank?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
If that were my tank I would do a group of Geo's, the JD (if you must) a Heros Notatus, and maybe a mellow Pike but not the brown pikes that so many have, probably something from the Acutrotrios (spelling) group. If you have the extra bucks and don't mind paying the price Rapps has some Crenicichla Multispinosa that are just specacular and I have them but they aren't cheap.

How are my answers the worst? You can keep a pair of jags in a 75g. Just throwing them out there because they are a nice fish to breed. Not trying to derail op. But I have to such up for my posting when elitest asses flame.

Because EVERYTIME someone asks, you ALWAYS say dovii and jag pairs...especially in tanks that are WAY too small for dovii or jag singles.

How about doing some research before giving someone stupid advice if you dont know the answer. You shouldnt be responding to ANYTHING if you dont know anything about it...which you obviously dont.

You SHOULD NOT keep a jag pair in a 75...OR dovii.:screwy: regardless if he has a JD or not. 75 is borderline too small for any fish that gets over 10+ inches, let alone 2 of them.

So am I still under the correct impression that a RT will not work with my JD?

If they are both small, it might work for them to grow up together...and still could as they get bigger. Ive kept single festae in community tanks for years without any problems at all. It was only upon the introduction of a mate and them pairing up that trouble began.

If one is bigger than the other or if they are both 5+ inches and the only fish in the tank, you might have problems. Never know till you try.

My JD is a 6-7" male. He's currently in his own tank. So the 100 gal will be new to both the JD and Festae if I introduce them at the same time. Would this possibly cut down on the agression and let them each claim their own area?

Any suggestions on what to do? I don't have a Festae right now, so I could look for one that's the correct size.

If you really want to go with the Festae I suppose you could give it a try. I would buy the Festae small, so that you can watch him grow and that way see his aggression develop.

You Could try the re-decorating trick and add them in at the same time. I've seen wacky tank mates. 100g should be good for them.

eh.....I might just go with some severums and a female JD.

The Festae is most likely going to be too much of a risk.
It's definately going to be a risk that's for sure.. severums are better option.
