this will also stress them out and the picture im getting is that u have allot of peaces, so this means that they will get stressed like 10 times in total for the "10" peaces of driftwood u have. so no longer a good idea, its better to do the job one time, they may get stressed 2 a level 6 of 10 but thats better than level 4 of 10 x 10 different times under a short period. Thats my theory
Another problem is this: lets say u have 10 hidingplaces and for every peace of wood u remove u reduce it with one hidingplace at the same time. The bichir who gets rid of its hidingplace will emediatly try 2 find a new one so naturaly it will try 2 take over a nother one that may be occupied and this will create fights.
If u remove everyting at one time and then put some of it back just 2 have a few hidingplaces then the hirrarky in the tank will change, the biggest and strongest will take the new hidingplaces and u reduce the chance of fights i think
Btw
No hidingplaces = no fights because their aint no terretory 2 fight about
Well, this is my theory you guys are welcome 2 tell me from wrong
Here are some of the people that don't know about. Even with or without driftwood/bogwood or any hiding place or with or without a substrates. Bichirs don't get stress out as long as they have a large tank and able to get the food. They are more likely to get stress out when keep in a smaller tank. He got a 180 tank and even if he gets rids of the woods the bichirs will still do fine.
Most of his bichirs came from me and they been with the baddest fish on my tank. Still they don't get stress out and just do their thing like any other bichirs.
Just try to do what Ricky's (Infblue) tank setup. I actually got inspired from them back in my early days of keeping bichirs back in AP. (Infblue, Fruitbat, Kenta, Anne, CDM, Loubarb, Chad, and many more master of bichirs). There were so much pics that I used to over compare of today.
This is right after the wood was removed, I'll probably end up putting a few pieces back, with maybe a few more plants. We'll see, its a work in progress!
