...and the savings. The sick and beaten can be had at great discounts around here. My LFS will usually let me have them at their cost. I have had had more healthy fish die when I get them home. Well....they usually get eaten.:irked:

The cool thing about that is, I don't have to choose. we have 2 lfs (besides wal-mart). ! of them is Eral May. They have good quality fish, with the ocassional casualty, and the prices could be better. I stopp in ocassionaly, because they can get some things the other can't get as ofen.
The good one is not a chain, Dan's Pet Palace. They get top quality fish from a wholesaler in FL. It is dirt cheap, too. This is the store that sold me a 12" Carapo Knife for $10. Once, i walk in there to get some feeders, and Dan Comes out of the back with a kitty litter box and handed it to me. He said that it was mine, that he didn't want it and it was a shipping mistake. They were these rare crabs that would sell for $20 each. There 3 of them. They were completly round like marbles, with light purples bodies, with parts that were dark purple, and bright orange. They were that kind of live sand, that was heavily dampend with salt water. they live for 3 days. they would dig, while slowly rotating, and go under the sand in that spinning fashion. I still have the dried bodies of 2 of them (the color is lighter obviously).

You know many of the fish that 6th ave sells comes from Aquatraders. Although, 6th ave does have more oddballs upstairs which is the only thing I look at when I'm there. Most of the fish found downstairs can also be found at aquatraders and most likely cheaper and healthier too.
