If you want to keep the pair Id put a JD in there and a small school of Clown Loaches. They will devour any eggs laid.

A 55 is too small for clowns loaches. I'd do 1 JD a 2 FM, or a all convict tank.

get a Cren. Sax type pike a con and FM, should be fun. Make sure to put in lots of hiding. Breeding cons would probably take most of the tank for themselves from what i've heard.

not at all, just that imo salvini's are a better looking fish , by FAR and there's like 500,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 people with cons, and mabey less than half with salvinis, was just assuring the op that a salvini won't get punkd or pushed around being they size about the same as cons. and they run in the same price range too.
