WHAT WOULD YOU DO??

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Dude, I got kicked out of kingsnake once. I cursed one too many times on the chat. Hoo-ray. Thats a lesson learned. I'm only a member of two other forums anyway. I wasn't aware you were helping me. It seemed the opposite.

THE QUESTION WAS: WHAT WOULD YOU DO?! I told him. I didnt say it was best in his situation or that he had to do it. I told him what I would put in a 125. No amount of time or money was specified. Had he said 'I only have 100 dollars and I want to keep it in the tank permenently', then I would have suggested otherwise. (like the crocodile skink already suggested)

Get off my back, sparky.

PS: Whats a chili red aro? I'm not a fish keeper. I only have an interest in SW fish and joined to ask a question I had on my mind. I just happen to like this subforum here, its my specialty.

PSS: How do you know about Frank and I, and that I got banned from kingsnake? You have to be a member at varanus...

Cheers

I am and I have known frank longer than you probably have been walking. If you mock me again I will have you banned. This will make it 3 for 3 wanna take the chance? You should really learn to speak to your elders a little more respectfully. And again your advise was dog schit and I wouldnt offer that advice upon anyone .... again going back to common sense something you lack as well as manners. Again if you continue to mock members and if you continue to give dog schit advice on this forum you will be asked to leave. Just like on KS and just like Frank stomped you like the little roach you are. I have tried to help you take the alternate route by asking you to please sit back and think before you type.... you mocked me and other members here by calling us crazy among other things. Youre new here youre the one who has to prove yourself here not the other way around .... and because of your way of being youre soon on your way out of this forum too. Capice.....

PS a chilli red aro is Scleropages formosus google search and see, its living art is what it is... just like the black head python of which you have no respect for if youre willing to throw one in a 125 tank no matter what stage it is in its life.

Someone's hateful... Dude settle down, seriously. No one's insulting you or anyone.

Don't start cursing. This isn't an insulting contest. The question was, AND I REPEAT FOR THE THIRD TIME, what would I have put in a 125. It was not if a blackhead can live there its whole life. Personally, I would have a smaller baby cage and a 125 would be an intermediate between baby and adult. I would have a much larger cage for an adult. I don't even plan on keeping blackheads, EVER. I don't have that kind of money to play around with. The question posed in the thread was entirely hypothetical.

So please, settle down. Notice I am not cursing and insulting anyone. I said the suggestion for an alligator was crazy, not the person suggesting it.

Please see others point of view, and maybe take a nap.

Peace

By the way, Frank did not 'stomp me like a roach'. I look up to him as my biggest herpkeeping mentor, second only to Steve Irwin. Frank has calmy helped me out with every question I have asked him, and we've had great and insightful conversations.

If you really think my advice was that bad, just say so. Everyones input is equal on a forum, I doubt anyone would disregard you. I'm not new nor old in the reptile hobby, I know my way around, trust me. If the blackhead *SUGGESTION* was so horrible, just say and say why, I would probably have agreed had you not completely gone off like a bomb.

*waves white flag*

went off like a bomb? no in no way whatsoever. I got pissed because you lack the experience to give the type of advice fitting for the particular question in hand. I know that for a fact because you suggested a large constrictor for a 125 gallon FISH tank. There is a reason fish tanks are called fish tanks. Yes they can make ok places to keep reptiles, but they need further modifications. Something you never spoke of .... if you had the experience you claim you did... then you would of spoken of all the necessary mods you would have to make in order to have this 125 fish tank workable for a reptile. I think all fish tanks are rubbish except for raising baby animals..... again when modified. I prefer custom made enclosures to fit the particular animals needs. A 125 wont offer a blackhead python what it needs. They are semi arboreal fosorial and ground dwelling, this is for its entire life cycle. They will use all three different types of its habitat for different reasons, hunt, mate, thermoregulate, etc... etc.. I could go on. Does a 125 fulfill these life events ? (take a moment and answer the question as honestly as you can). Again if you had the experience you claim to have these are all things you would have and should have as a common courtesy to the less knowlegeable/novice keepers on this forum. Again you failed to mention that. I gave you the opportunity to jump off the cloud youre on and redeem yourself to offer more knowledgeable and insightful advice that would help Tyler's current dilemma. You failed to do so and attacked someone for suggesting an alligator... you called me sparky for telling you youre taking the content of this thread the wrong way. Experience is gained through time. All I see you do is suggest websites caresheets DVD's etc etc etc ... if you had an intimate conversation with Frank then you would know that these 3rd party accounts are a mere start or a base if you want to put it that way. You have to listen to the animals who are the real experts.... i have never imposed myself as an expert and I have been in the game for a long time now here you come thinking your hot stuff and im going to go out on a limb and say you probably have 2-3 leopard geckos a beardie and now youre the leading expert on herpafauna. I wont take anything of what I said back because I took two approaches with you.... a calm approach where I asked you to give me a good reason a large constrictor should be kept in 125 and you failed to answer you just got defensive... then you took the mocking approaching where you named called, that pissed me off and I told you how I saw it as dog poop advice which it was. Go v.net and suggest someone throw their ackies in a 125 see the rock throwing that will gon on there.

Have a good day and take a whole day to sink this all in.... if you truly have love for reptiles youll be around for a while and youll have many ups and downs ... more downs than ups for that matter....but damn the ups are f ing great. I see lots your types come and go year in and year out ... some think theyre hot shots with lots of money .... some very book smart, but no commonsense (much like you), and some that really take the time to ask the right questions....those are the ones that make it to see the gratifying ups.

Dude, I have never in my days said I have a lot of experience. I have made an ABSOLUTELY MASSIVE point of that at varanus, and it has eased my reputation quite a bit. Theres a difference between thinking you know and suggesting, and suggesting making a point you don't. I have done both, its all part of being a person. I think I have more common sense than book smarts. If youve ever read one of Franks famous 'acedemia' threads, book smarts aren't always a good thing. I prefer experience (what relatively little I have of it) to be from personal day-to-day updates, not a caresheet or book. The first is only avaliable on a forum, which is why varanus is my primary active forum.

You think I would suggest ACKIES for a 125? I'm naive occasionaly, true, but I'm not stupid. I've been planning ackies for the past year, and I'm getting close to having the money saved up for a pair. Anyway, ackies are not by any means blackheads.

Oh, and youre precious caresheet you posted says they keep their blackheads in 4 AND 6 FOOT VISION CAGES. Ooooh, how inhumane! Give me a break.

Glad you calmed down a bit, youre much more coherent now. But now you've changed the topic from blackheads (which I agreed with you on to an extent) to a pissing match. I think you just clogged the toilet. How vulgar.

Sorry, that post may have come across a tad angrier than I anticipated. I'm pretty relaxed right now, I'm not the best at conveying my mood sometimes.

Anyway, I left off an important point. CARESHEETS AND BOOKS ARE A BASIC INTRODUCTION TO AN ANIMAL. When people need help, I'll give them a quality caresheet (yes there are some) to look over or a book to skim (there are good books too, you just have to know which ones). Even more important is experience. But heres the beauty of the internet!! It doesnt have to be yours, it can be anyones! You can learn from other peoples mistakes and successes instead of blundering around on your own at the expense of your animal. Isn't that nice?

PS: The term sparky means you are a little over excited and emotional. It's not an insult, but nor is it a compliment.

:chillpill:

which is why you got booted from KS.... again you take things from me and use them against me... go back to the caresheet link and read what I typed. I asked you to look at their size not where they kept them. I used the example of ****ty vision cages down in the thread about how they were useless for large constrictors... I guess you missed that too. Its really not my fault you cant read things in a stabalized manner and then reply with some valuable info. Again I cant help you there.

Ackies not the same as blackheads? Wow if you were really reading what frank types he claims as well as all the other big snake people .... constrictors snakes for that matter should be kept with temp gradient very similar to varanus. Go back and re read that it will help you... so to say throw a blackhead in a 125 is like saying hey throw an ackie in there. Does that make sense?

Youre right the toilet is full and I will stop trying to help you because you keep throwing valuable info that I have experienced with my reptiles and my monitors for that matter down the drain..... so do you wanna save face? Take the plunger out re read the valuable info and separate it from crap you threw in there. Figuratively and metaphorically speaking. :newbie:
