im going to upgrade and get a bigger tank. i was looking around and found a 150 for 250$. and then i found a 180 for 150$ but the catch is that the top 1/3 leaks. so what would you guys do? buy the 180 and reseal it? just get the 150. i was thinking the 180 but i dont know if i trust myself to reseal it safely, my parents would be pretty mad if it broke/leaked

I would go with the 180.

Once its sealed simply fill it up in your garage or backyard for a few weeks just in case.

doesnt matter, fill it up without fish....

only reason to fill it is to see if it holds water my friend.

i know with out fish, i was just thinking the cold water might affect it

Get the 180.

Re-sealing isn't has hard as you might think. The part that takes the longest is scraping out the old silicon and making sure the seams are REALLY clean. Practise on a small tank first, like a cheap 10 gallon. Remember to let the new silicon cure completely before adding water, at least two days.

The cold water shouldn't affect the tank.
