IMO hikari should work ..i am a big fan..and dont feel bad about starving him he can surviv up to 2 weeks or more in the wild without food and he will eat if he wants..but because he is already big its going to be hard..i tried on my jardini at 14 " and had no luck so what i do is feed him earthworms..gutloaded..and superworms and crickets that i prefeed carrots appleslices and romain hearts for vitamins, especially the beta carotine from the carrots.
it real close to theyre natural diet..if you search on the net you will find sites that sell like 10'000 superworms for 80$..so cheep
good luck with your jar and the pellets

It all pretty much depends on what your jardini finds palatable.

I concur. All brands of pellets seem to be hit & miss when it comes to aros.

BTW Marshall, I've seen aros as small as 5" take to NLS straight away. Perhaps some aros are just born smarter than others? :D

I have had good luck with Hikari sticks in training my black aro and jardini to eat pellets. Alternatively, my aros use to take market shrimp stuffed with massivore as well.

Ive had no luck so far getting him to take pellets I have hikari massivore an he turns his nose up at it. He seems to only take things that are moving or a descent size like a beef heart cube. I ordered a small packet of Hikari jumbo carnivore sticks see if hell find these more to his liking.

my silver was eating hikari food stick for couple days then doesn't dig it anymore, sometimes bites it but will spit it out. it's hooked on hikari FD krill tho.
