What would you get??? Bearded vs Hedgehog

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I dont know what id get i have loads of hedgehogs all around my garden there everywhere in the UK and they are very cute
But everyone has a BD so they arent different at all its totaly up to you hedgehog for something different an cute BD to join the crowd but have a nice little Lizzard.

well the bearded dragon will look cool all day and sit on your arm but the hedgie will sit in his hiddi hole until you take him out and he gets a routine
I have 2 hedgis and they are both sweet hearts. one I raised from 6 weeks the other is her father I bought from the breeder of my first. The father is less jumpy but over all not that nice, while my baby (velcro) is absolutly hilarious
she will un curl then sniff the air then lick you or something, then she will snuggle in your neck, which causes an emense amount of tickles and then she goes into a licking fit, she will find a freckle and lick/nibble on it whicch causes more intense giggleing that is uncontrolable
so then you place her down and she heads for the toilet paper roll, sticks her head in and walks around with a toilet paper roll on her headuntil she hits something and takes the thing off

so you pick, cool lizard/ wet your self laughing hedgie
and you dont feed them roaches, you feed them a 50/50 mix of high grade kitten food and hedgie mix
but for weekly treats, apples, bananas and mealies

also the quiles are like a hair brush but I find they make your hand itchy from the tiny tiny holes they puncture

This thread got moved again?? lol

Looks like I'm going to go with a Bearded Dragon... I was at the pet store yesterday and the girl working really talked me out of getting a hedgehog for now... I'll post again when I end up getting it..

Thanks for the advice everyone!!!!!

I would totally go for a hedgey

what did she say
because if you don't treat them right they wont treat you right so she probobly didn't treat him right and got a bad experience

The one that they had in stock - she was almost afraid to handle it.. she said that it would probably not be good for my daughter because the spines can still hurt you even if they are not balling up.. and that it takes many months for them to get used to you... even though the ones I've seen on youtube are all so friendly and adorable.

I will probably get one eventually... just maybe when my children are older.

I am definitely going to get a bearded though.. I am just researching what I need to get started. I have a tank, light, water dish, and branch. I just need to know what is the best substrate to use, and I have to get a cave and whats this about a uv light??

never get a hedgehog from a pet store
for all you know some kid could have tormented it while it was there
get them from a breeder as they will likely be socialized already and much more calm
