What would you go to school for?

Well im going to school right now as a firefighter. Im trying to get my Bachelors degree in fire science.
I find its hard to get a job in any field unless you have hookups of some sort... most of the time its just about trying to get lucky or scouring every possible source for jobs even after you get mad rejections left, right and center...
IT is now become a field where there are lot of professionals in it, so unless your planning on specializing on a certain field within IT it doesn't meant your doing to easily find a job either...
Best thing is to try and maybe expand on your advertising skills and do another course some what related to it which would look more attractive to future employers... i.e. if you do Advertising, maybe get some sort of cert. or something for web production, or multimedia...
Just my 0.2 cents...

im training to b a pathologist....il never be out of a job there, people r always guna die.
since i was little i was always wanted to be either a marine biologist or a psychologist for murders....someone told me they r called forensic psychologist but it doesnt really make sense.
i want to be the one that gets inside the minds of murders or the horrendously insane.
marine biology meant i would have to work with other fish/mammals for me to get to sharks, which are a passion for me. but i lose interest quickly. if something doesnt interest me i just cant concentrate and put my all in. so that idea went out the window.
i applied to a college before i knew my school GCSE results, for psychology. and as a back up another college for hair and beauty.
the psychology college told me when id already started the hair and beauty college (i just assumed i hadnt been accepted) that i was accepted but it had been too late.
so after becoming fully qualified in hair and beauty i then, worked in British Telecoms where i got to boss around the engineers.
then had a baby.
then went back to college to do an NVQ in business and admin.
then last year went back to re-do my GCSEs to get a grades....past with flying colours, this year i will be applying to do a science access course at college....after which im just going to apply for morgues and hope for the best lol

things iv wanted to do pay well but im not sure i had the motivation originally. maybe one day il get where i need to but at least now i have the grades that everyone wants so no matter what job i walk in to in the mean time, it will do until i get where i want in life.

Chloe I believe your thinking of criminal psychology.
Unfortuantly a medical field like RN or RT in not possible. On 1 hand im torn between more education in visual communications and advertising but its still a gamble. On the other hand I need to find something concrete, but most trade schools are just scams anymore. 98% job placement my @$$. But I would like to be educated in a field where work is actually available.
At this point I believe my best course of action is Information Technology. Hours and days of research and I still cant find anything to do with my life. Humphhh. Damn this land of opportunity... Maybee 1 day soon I can meet a designer looking to take somebody under his wing, But there has got to be that breaking point where you have to abandon your dreams. I feel like a immigrant at this point. behhh what a heatache
