If you build it from scratch it is going to be expensive.
I have an Allen Bradley PLC running my reef tank, I got it on ebay cheap.
It does Sunrise, Sunset simulation. Moon Rise and moon set simulation.
It is acurate to what ever latitude and longitude you want to use.
Along with PH cont, Cond. cont., Temp cont., sump level cont. and alarms.
It also monitors levels in my RO tank, starts/stops RO unit.
Or what ever else you want to program it to do.
