I'm Over Here Now
so this is kinda a long story, but just want to know what you guys would have done. monday i was at the lfs and bumped into my cousin there and he asked how my ray was doing. we talked a little small talk and continued our shopping. after we were done talking a kid i'd guess to be in his early 20's says "hey i ordered and am getting a stingray in 2 days". so he started to ask alot of basic noob questions (wich i didn't mind answering at all) but i could tell he felt in over his head. so i asked him what kind, tank size, filtration, all the basics. he told me he didn't know what kind and he had a 55 gal with a hob. i said be ready to upgrade real soon, and had a little more chit chat and he kinda stumbled on some of the details he told me. well long story short he has a 30 gal long that wasn't even set up yet. i told him that his ray will die from the bacteria cycle and told him to get some api stress zyme, then asked him where he lived. he lived real close to me so i told him that if he wanted he could stop by with some buckets and get some of my established water. he said he didn't have any that he'd get some and swing by. he showed up with 1 bucket. so i said that wouldn't be enough so i filled his bucket along with 5 of mine so he could fill his whole tank. he said thanks and that he'd drop my buckets off on thursday. ik it's a long story to read, but what would you have done??

yah ik, but he only has hob filter and i run all biomax and that wont fit so it was the best i think i could have done

he texted pics of her. she's a super small retic and would most likely killed in my ray tank. wish people would do just a little research first. i mean with laptops and smart phones you can get all that info in minutes.

does he know that is not a suitable home for his ray ? if hes bound and determined shy of rehoming his ray there isnt much else you could do.

I think I would've done the same thing. Idk I would be concerned about the ray personally I know if its that small that will be ok form a few months but not for a noob to take on. It was kind of late to talk him out of the ray. I'm not trying to be negative but I am picturing this ray dying as I'm writing this.
