I paid $450 for my 10.7x3x2.
Some people just want too much, have a look arounf im sure you can pick up a tank only clean 6x2x2 for 150-200, throw together a pine stand for $60, buy an fx5 and bobs your uncle.

I found one with dual overflows and glass tops for $300 couple days before I bought the 265. Told the guy is be there Monday to get it and he texts me Sunday night and says he sold it lol

Personally I would pay 200, no pumps filters lids or anything. Basically worth a dollar a gallon if its just the tank too me. I paid 300 for my 220 with a sump, pluming, countless heaters and power heads and lights and lids with a python.
 
Same here for my old 220. He's saying he will get that out of it or just keep it so it's w.e I'll look elsewhere lol

Just the tank it self $200. Stand is garbage. I see people posting tanks up on craigslist and asking outrageous prices on them. I would say your offer of $300 was very generous.
