I would offer 30 and go from there. You can usually get an oscar that size for like 10 or 15, and pacu and plecos like that are usually free. I guess it really depends on the small fish.
hey good to hear from you. the pacu is 11inches, the red oscar is about 9inches the pleco is 11inches and the small fish is a golden Gourami. I do not know what the balances are in the water, the water is crystal clear and i have two filters going on it. do you have a test kit we could test when you get here. I was thinking 30$ let me know if i am way off. Monday would be great. Thank you,
I am not sure what to do with a golden gourami, but I think I will take him up on his $30 offer.
It worries me that the water is "crystal clear" LOL and that he has no test kits. I'd bring mine, for sure. I mean, I hate paying for other people's mistakes (which is what they're asking you to do when you buy a Pacu that was in a 75 gallon tank), but if you want the fish, $30 isn't that bad. I've paid more for "rescues." You have to be the bigger person, and think about the fish's needs, because their current owner obviously isn't.
Short term, yes. Long term is a work in progress. They will go into a 125 for 4-6 weeks of quarantine. Then I will sort them out between the 125 and 210 with the fish that I already have so that this is the end result.
210
2 red belly pacu (about 12" and growing)
1 common pleco (about 11" and growing)
1 red oscar (about 9")
My only worry is that golden gourami with the danio schools. Never had a gourami before?!? He may go in with the pacus if he starts snacking on my danios and if he gets eaten, I promise not to complain!
I knew I had to build a bigger tank for the current pacu anyway... it won't have to be any bigger to build one that can hold 2 pacu. I will have a 350-500 gallon built by next Spring that will accommodate the pacus.
