What would you pay???

After searching for 10+ years i've finally found someone that claims to be able to get a Cross River Puffer (Tetraodon pustulatus)

While i'm still debating whether or not to have them order one, what would you be willing to pay?

Also does anyone have any records of sales from last few years as a reference point for me???

I'm aware that you are not in this country but I think Wes actually had a few last year.I'm not really into puffers so I have no idea what I would be willing to pay for one of those.Hope things pan out and you are able to get one.

Haven’t seen one in a long time. Used to sell for $400’s. I think I remember eczs selling one for around that much.

Nice, thanks for the info... i know a long while ago they were going for around $800 - $1500 on the 2 or 3 occasions i saw them for sale...

Now an LFS claims to be able to order them for a little over USD $1K a piece... i guess due to rarity and shipping etc it probably sounds about right since they need to make a profit, but damn if its not a true cross river but a cross river / fahaka cross then would seem way steep...

Real one hasn’t been imported in at least 7 years last time I saw one that was legit was $550 usd

Tbh, thats kind of what i was thinking, if its a true Cross River its a steal, if its a cross with Fahaka, then not so much...

It depends on what your willing to pay. Personally I'd cap it off at $500. However they have you by the berries due to the rarity. So it just depends on how bad you want it. I'd damn near need a DNA test right now the way people are before i would do anything.

That was my thought before i heard the price, i said to my wife between 300-500 i would almost definitely get it, but at just over 1K thats a bit rich for my blood

As tempting as it is, i decided against it since i maybe traveling a bit this year and didnt want to risk losing such an amazing fish while away...
