What would you put in ......here???

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
ackies would go very well in this cage IMO but there are other species too that would be great in here
jeweled laceratas, plated lizards, agama species, there are tons of others but these species would likely utilize the substrate depth

Jeweled lacertas are on the top with red ackies, but for now some timors will go in there!!I'm going to build it taller for them & also once they perrish i will obtain some tree monitors (my favorites).I want kimberly's,pilbarense, acanthuras, kingorum & maybe argus!!But for them only next year when i purchase a house, then its on!I would go ackies but the only ones i can find up for sale are 1000$ delivered a year old pair. With X_mas around the corner & me not working for a few months dew to work injuries,it's kinda tight! But i do what i must!!For now timors will be..by the way there'll be here tomorrow ill post pics!!!Lacertas go for 150$ plus around here & that's just for one!!

Id go with ackies, they are worth the wait, just contact a breeder and see if you can get some on hold, contact Varaino on here

from what i've heard there all what i'm looking for but for now the timors will do!I have experience with reptiles & i've allready had an ackie & it went bad on my own stupidity,so for know! Foe cheaper reasons i'm going timorense!!If i could afford it right now i would so have a pair of red ackies!!!

If you were willing to make the enclosure full of sand, a savannah Monitor might be a good choice. They dont get as big as some of the other monitors, and can make good pets when trained properly.
1) Savannah Monitors should not be kept on sand, they are not a desert species like their name ironically suggests.

2) Putting a four foot lizard in a four foot cage, what could go wrong?

3) Savannahs do not make good "pets", no monitor does.. If you want something to curl up with you on the couch and watch TV, get a dog, or a cat. Or a girlfriend/boyfriend, whichever floats your boat..

4) Savannahs are one of the more difficult monitors to take care of, just because they are cheap does not mean they are a good option.

/End mini-rant.

Personally, I think that the best option would be some Ackie Monitors, if you made a few small adjustments to the enclosure.

I'm not a reptile person, but I love to look at the pics...
Since no one else has said it...great job on the enclosure! It's beautiful (reminds me of a zoo exhibit). Good luck finding the right animal for it and for you :D

Really it's pretty much good to go, you could take the plants out or leave them, whichever you prefer. How deep is the substrate? It looks like it should be a bit deeper if it's going to be for ackies. Other than that just make sure you've got the temps right, and you should be pretty much good to go.
