I work a 4 10hr shift but i work sunday night to thursday night 9pm to 7am. i thank its great. tzhe extra day off and the money saved on gas for the one day. my only problem with the shift is im tired of working nights. been doing it for 12yrs now and im so over it.

i say just be happy u have a job, esp since u live in ohio. i have been out of work for the last 5 months and i hate it, but can't find anything decent and i was a supervisor at my last job. i worked 12hr shifts with 3 days off one week and 4 the next, from 6am-6:30pm. granted thats what the schedule was supposed to be, most of the time i got stuck working 6-7 days a week. and i hated it, missed the time with my family and kids, but out of work for so long, i would be happy to work any type schedule now as long as it paid decent and was steady work...even tho the economy is getting "better" as they say, its still crap so just be happy u are making a steady paycheck bc it sucks being unemployed in ohio!!!

I used to work Mon-Thur 8:00-6:30 and now am working Mon-Fri 7:00-3:30. Although I like being off so early so I have time to do things after work like hit the gym, I would trade it for 4 10's in a heartbeat. The extra couple hours a day can't compete with permenant three day weekends.

working OT is nothing unusual over here in HK... most people i know work OT here... i've found myself working 14 hours straight at times if i'm doing a big event or something...

But in all honesty i don't mind doing it atm... since i actually enjoy my job... but if i didn't and i had to OT almost every day 5 days a week, i'd probably not last long...

I don't have a set schedule. I work anytime starting from 6am and finish at 11pm. Weekends and Holidays are a luxury. I'd like to work a "normal" Monday through Friday, 9-5 job, don't know what I can do with my work experience to land a job like that though.

What do you do?

Over the summer i used to work similar hours to that in a factory.
10h M-F, then usually another 8.5 on saturday, and occasionally 12h on monday.
Was unreal pay for the three months work. DIdnt mind the long hours, but was annoyin having basically no free time. So id say 4x10h is better then 5x8hours

Just would go to work, eat, sleep, and lift some weights 3x a week. ocassionally see friends saturday night, and see my girlfriend any days i didnt lift.

Just do what we all do, think of the $$$

Damn, that's alot of hours! :WHOA:

I've worked 4 days 10 hr shifts befor and have done 12 hr shifts as well as standard 5 day shifts. Love the 12 hr shifts because we'd do 4 days, off 3 days one week and next week work 3 days, off 4 days and switch back and so on. Only thing is those 12 hr days take a toll on u and it takes some getting used to. So overall, I'd choose the 4 days 10 hr shift. 3 day weekend every week and it's only that much sweeter when there's a holiday. But when I did that shift we started at 7am. I wouldn't want to start at 4 or 5 am

Our weekend shifts work Friday-Sunday 5am-5:30pm Unless it's OT for them they always get 4 days off. Only 36 hours though. I would definitely start at 7am if I could.

as long as no one requires me to wake up before 11 am, i'll take the 4 10's. i don't care which days i work or which days i get off as long as the 3 days i'm off are all together.

That's what I'm starting to think too. Any hours is better than 5am.

my dad works 5am-5pm mon-friday, granit, hes suppose to get in at 7am but goes in early because the company and his facilty is really busy! my mom worked 6:30am to 5pm before she quit because my mom was fed up, and my 84 year old gpa was comming to stay with us for a couple months, and he just fell yesterday morning and broke his pelvic bone :/. My parents had to work these hours though because my dads the Manager of Yokohama tires testing facilty in the nearby city, and my mom was the General Manager at the restaraunt I work at. My mom worked 5 days a week too. mon, tues, weds, thurs(off), Fri, Sat, Sun(off).

I was working 6:30am to 2pm on monday and friday, but I stopped doing truck and the new gm just put me on 11am-2pm. ANd theyre saying they dont want me to quit because my mom did, and they dont want and need to loose there other best employee, and then they stick me on a three hour shift... TWO DAYS A WEEK! I told the corporate kitchen manager that i want to work more, but the manager said that their payrolls to high right now or their hours, and the corp kitchen manager was like i dunno who theyre getting their info from, but theyre wrong. Well get it figured out for you, I was like YAY MOORE MONEYYYY FORRRR FISHHHH,,, ANNNDDD MYYYY CARRRRRRRR

I had a job once they only had me working 12 hours in a two week pay period. Quit that after a month of 24 total hours! lol
