To have "baller status" lavishly garnered onto you from other "baller status" monster fishkeepers, you must do or possess most of the following:
1. Live in California, and diss the North if you live in the South, and vice versa.
2. Use the word "bro" in every post you make at least once. Okay, twice.
3. Cram fish into your tank so each fish have at most 2 free inches of movement.
4. Keep an RTG arowana in America (California no less), and publicly flaunt it. Repeatedly.
5. Fake like you're "getting out of the hobby," so you don't get busted by Fish & Wildlife due to being a dumbass.
6. Make extensive use of the forum-supplied cartoon smilies in all posts and signatures.
7. Keep a widebar dat of at least 12"
8. Continue buying semi-rare fish even though you're "trying to get out of the hobby."
9. Pack extremely aggressive fish together, ram food down their throats, and claim you've just got "baller status" fishkeeping skilllzz.

In the context of this thread and this forum most times someone with lots of money/connections..
i don't know if its been stated already but term "baller" originally came from innercity "ghetto" communities as a slang word..... reffering the "drug man" who used to "ball up" narcotics in 1/8 oz otherwise known as 8balls...... usually these "ballers" had large amounts of cash and were very flashy with their expenditures therefore perpetuating the image of wealth and success....
