im looking for a black background for my tank. are there any cheaper ways to do it?

i dont want to paint it since its up and running

Someone on here used a black trash bag.

i dont want to use paint bcuz my tank is up and running.. i dont want to move it

you can buy black backgrounds from the store or try something like cloth or poster board. i just ended up draining my tank and dragged it out a bit to spray paint it since i figured it would look much nicer. moving the tank was actually pretty easy, sniffing in the paint while indoors wasn't fun though

Get cheap black felt fabric, cut it to size, and attach it with velcro along the edges of the tank frame. Looks great when done properly!

i like the fabric idea and the poster board

Check a craft store or wally world for some foil/mylar wrapping paper.
I would stay away from paper or felt that could hold water and get moldy or smelly.

The weed cloth people use in gardens works.Might have to double it up depending on how dense t is.
You can get limo tint cheap on ebay. Not easy to get on smooth though.

I got an all black back ground for my 5 foot 100gal at Petco for $2.40. The kid only rang me up for one foot. It does not just any cheaper then that.
