Whats a good catfish for a 125?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Rafael cats are good looking and I've seen one that was almost eight inches in length but they are hiders and he would never see it.The RTC grows fast and will try to eat everything else.

Sun cats can be hit and miss on nocturnal/diurnal activity, but should be about the right size for a 125g.
Bullhead cats are a good fit it the water isn't too warm.
The majority of pleco cats will do well also.

What about a Pangious? (I'm sure I mispelt that).
They get pretty big but I'm not sure about the growth rate.

Ohhh, thanks EVERYONE! :)
I'm going to go to my lfs and see if they have 4 lines, maybe a pictus (if they have a bigger one), or sun cats. Also can see what others they have.

You are right about that. Mine seems to change his tactics whenever I change the tank around. When he lived in a 55 gal (as a little guy) he alternated between sitting in plants and hiding but always came out for food.
Now that he's in a 150 gal (and about 8") he spent the first 6 months hiding in rocks and now he's decided to suspend himself on top of the plants. My friend thought he was a fake rubber fish lol.

Very quirky catfish but I've found him to be fun (We named him Old Gus).
