whats a good catfish...

Great option, the syno family.

Do you want an active cat or just a gravel-picker? Raphael catfish are amazingly hardy and long-lived and the popular striped raphael (platydoras armulatus) typically grows to within the 7" to 9" range which is great for a 150g. I'm biased, though, as they are my favorite fish. :D

Porthole are peaceful SA catfish that do best in groups. They get about 6''. They wouldn't be good w/ agressive cichlids, but really good w/ geos, angels, dwarfs, or discus.

Yeah, and porthole cats are insanely active little beggars. My pair goes nuts when they see me.

I like the African featherfin. Don't believe they are very aggressive but they only get about 7-8" i believe and are a little nicer to look at IMO.

yea I like this one. Ive owned all the other but there just too reclusive for me. I want something thats not gonna be afraid to swim around freely in the tank, not just hide under rocks or in my plants. where can i find some of these little guys? They common/expensive?

Snookn21(John) on Aquabid has some for sale - they are flagtail porthole catfish, and look like decent size. Good luck with them.

The only catfish I can think of that is an open swimmer that isn't aggressive is pictus. They are pretty common, but beautiful. Most cats will be hiding or sit on the bottom.
