Was thinking of stocking some feeder's but i find goldfish are a disaster waiting to happen.

what are you guy's using for live feeder's?:D

I plan on buying enouph to fill 2 55gal tanks and QT them for awile and get them plump before feeding.

well, my black aro has never seen a feeder and he looks fantastic. My big silver hasnt seen a feeder in 6 months. Personally, I would save the tanks for some more interesting fish. Arowanas can do fine without them:)

I guess an interesting fish that breeds like mad would be a convict. I know what it's like to enjoy watching an aro hunt (my black ignores feeders though lol)

I 100% agree there are alot better foods out there for your aro then any kind of feeders. My Jardini loves Hikari Gold Cichlid Pellets and his color has increased greatly since he has been eating them.

My issue with pellets is my tank is reef ready. it will become a waist and a pain to keep my overflow boxes clean. i am finding he eats frozen krill at night but seems to not care about it in the morning, so as of right now he is only eating once a day, i just want to pack some pounds on him :D and he sure seems attracted to swimming fish in the tank, he has already taken out some tetras and ghost shrimp.

but if the aro doesn't get to the krill before it hits the bottom my ray will do his rounds and fast

i do agree feeders suck and are a problem waiting to happin, im not a fan of feeding my fish them.

beefheart and shrimp make both of my aros go nuts:D

BH is another nasty food, but have fed it in the past to my frontosa. just a food i wouldn't feed everyday, but with my bio load being so low now i have the room to try more things.

il give the BH a try and see how he does with it. :D

Like i said i just want him fat! like my ray! i can look in my tank and see my ray and know he is eating. plus i see him attack the food like a kitten on catnip

i want to see this with this little aro, as i have become strongly attached to him :D

Thanks Guy's!

now i just need to find another female Motoro

I was thinking about guppy's they do breed like rats. however not sure i want to wait for them to produce the amount i would need. lol:popcorn:

I've been thinking about this idea as well.

I've got a running 20gal whick I've thought about throwing a few guppies in and using the fry for feeders for my rays. I like the idea of disease free feeders that are free. Worms are becoming costly and I always like to feed a varied diet.

Will they start to refuse other foods if a good amount of feeders are fed to them????

I wouldn't do feeders, I would just stick with the krill. You couls also try cut up pieces of smelt or market shrimp and see if he eat that, and if he doesnt' your ray will clean it up.
