What's a Good in line Heater fro FX5's?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Here's the parts I bought, and mostly assembled. Haven't glued or cut anything. I'm going to cut the length down by about half, since I could probably fit 3 heaters in it length wise as it is.

My total came out about $38 for all the pieces, but I bought some stuff I can use for other projects as well, so I figure the total cost for this heater housing came out about $20.

Oh, and a shot of the 4x2x20 tank that the heaters going to be running on. I'll be starting my own build thread on that tank, so keep an eye out for it :naughty:.

I kept getting "upload failed". I tried resizing and saving as a different file type, but it still wouldn't let me. I'll try again when I get home later tonight, or maybe after work tomorrow.

It looks like several people are having issues right now loading pics (including me earlier).

How are you uploading pics?

(I use imageshack to upload and host my pics. Then I use the "Insert Photo" Button in the "advanced mode" thread posting window...)

UPDATE: My WT Cord Grips should be here today! So I will let you know the progress of the build soon! With pics! :D

And the height difference between open and closed...

The pieces measure about 1.75" in diameter, so they are kind of big, But VERY COOL units! great design!

On the inside of the nut, above the threads, there are seperate wedged splines that have a whole rubber grommet attached to them on the inside that compresses when you tighten the nut down and relaxes back open when you loosen the nut.. It's an ingenious design! I love it!

I will ahve progress pics of the build this evening posted. I'm about to run out to get the Slip/ Threaded reducer that fits the Cord Grip to the sanitary "T"... I will also post a complete parts list by request once completed. I knwo that it's a bit reversed from a usual build thread but i needed to make sure that i have all of the correct pieces and it assembled well beforehand...

Be back later!:D
