Whats a good shed?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
For electricity I was just going to run an extension cord to the shed from the house.

Would that be a no no , and if so where would I find the code to hook up electricity to the shed? Under electrical or building codes?

Iam glad we have similar codes to somewhere in Canada.

Afaik a shielded extension cord rated for the load is "legal" However i would run a PVC pipe underground and route the cord via that.

okay, Thanks.
I was thinking of doing the pvc pipe.

A good 100' extension cord capable of handling 20 amps will set you back $100 bucks. No idea what youre gonna run on a pond that sized but you may need 2 circuits. If you need 2 circuits and have an opening on each phase in your panel, you can share a neutral, regardless of what you need you'll only need one ground. So even if you need 2 circuits you'll only need to pull 4 wires as opposed to the 6 you'd be paying for if you use extension cords plus you could get by with 1/2" PVC as opposed to 1-1/4" the accommodate for the plugs. Long story short, cheaper and just as easy to do it right.
