What's a good sinking pellets for polys beside Massivore?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I have fed the 6mm NLS Thera A and have had good success with it. My guys are only about 8 1/2" so a bit of a struggle but they get them down.

I think all pellets stink really bad. My family yelled at me for feeding massivore and nls lol. Made the whole house stink.
there has to be a pellet for bichirs that stink less than NLS. I have been avoiding pellets cuz massivores stinked real bad. The only solution to keep the place smelling nice is those plug air fresheners.

I have problem with the smell too before. I think only way to avoid the smell is to invest on placing an RO system. My tank never makes the whole room stinks anymore. Saves u from doing water changes too. I do feed both hikari and nls as main diet for my bichirs.

I really don't think Massivore smells more than any other kind kind of food but before I switched, my poly was eating Aqueon shrimp pellets. They're great for smaller fish but probably way to small for yours. They've got good ingredients, are available at most stores plus they're cheap.

What's an RO? Reverse Osmosis?

I received my NLS Mega fish formula pellets. The pellets are about the same exact size as massivores except thinner. It had a similar smell like massivores but the small is not as potent like massivores.

Now its time for me to test the pellets out. I threw several pellets in the tank to test it out. The smaller bichirs would try to eat it but keep spitting it out. The bigger bichirs didnt care for it. This went on for over 10mins and eventually the bichirs were able to swallow it. I guess this stuffs is a lot harder than massivores. The pellets do not break up in water after 10 mins like massivores do. It's probably because the pellets is a harder grade. I noticed massivores break apart in about 10mins making a mess in my tank.

I guess I've been lucky since I have yet to wind up with a bag of smelly Massivore pellets and I have been using them for a few years now.
