whats the easiest way to distinguish between an ocellaris and a monoculus?

i THINK that ocellaris has red eyes and monoculuis does not..

hmmmm... i do see alot of o's with red eyes....BUT! i have also seen some monos with red eyes. anyone got a more foolproof way of telling?

Growing them out is the best way to be sure.. but head shape can lead you towards one or the other and othe body characteristics.. post a pic.

Sorry to hear that, I too just purchased a "lukenini". They were labeled semi-aggresive. Mine is extremely shy too. My only problem is that it doesn't eat (problem posted on another thread). What was your luk eatting?

pbass will usually eat small feeders/guppies/shiners if nothing else so if you can't get it to eat try that and then wean them onto prepared/frozen foods/pellets later. Also make sure you're temp is 82 degrees+ and you have plenty of cover in the tank for it.

extemely haha thanks though! its ok. i replaced him with a pike. i realized i couldnt house the peacock for long. i fed mine guppies.
