Gonna be setting up a semi-automatic water changer on my new tank, so I need a float valve that will be used to refill my holding tank after I do a water change. I want a mechanical float valve, much like one on a toilet. This holding tank will be in a coat closet, so I need something that will not fail and get stuck, overflowing the holding tank.

I've seen this one made by Eshopps http://www.petsolutions.com/storefr...valve/prodEShoppsFloatValve.html#ReviewHeader

Anybody have other options they've used for months/years with no issues?

Thanks!

Check Rallysmans thread on his drip system. I can't remember exactly what he used, but it was on his setup for years.

i have used both of those above. they are ok. the conections are plastic make sure not to over tighten them, too loose and they leaks slowly. the water level seem to get an 1/4-1/2" higher than where you set them 6 months ago:irked: but they are adjustable so 1 click back and you good to go for awhile.

i use a normal ball float valve, connected to a 25 litre drum, that feeds the tank as needed by gravity, its been working a treat for about a year now!, just used 15mm push fittings, easy and cheap as chips!

Thanks guys.

One more thing. The feed line will come straight from my washer hookup. Do most of these float valves have a max psi rating? Will I need a pressure regulator to reduce the pressure?

Call JEHMCO. It's listed on their site. Small picture, no price, says "please call."
