would some dwarf pikes go nicely with my oblongus since we're on the subject, i keep hearing so much about pikes, that i've got to get atleast one

Screw the dwarfs man...I'm tellin ya.....Crenicichla xingu I or Crenicichla cincta would go GREAT with ur Caquetaia!! 
if yaz don't wanna go Lugubris family...go with Crenicichla sveni....Rapps has all of them currently! Great fish! BTW...dwarfs will be aight wit the Caquetaia for a few months...then the battle will be over as the Caquetaia out grow them.....so not really an option.....

Nice pair of xingu I would look pimp in there though! OR cincta!! !! I know ur a cheapskate...lol...but if yaz do want something more rare try the Crenicichla sp. 'redfaced lugubris'...Rapps SHOULD still have three left...and he has a pair...i know cuz he was holdin them for me....
