do you like Female sals or male sals, how big do each get??, what ones more agressive??what one has more and better color? would they be fine with a firemouth and some dither?? what do you think

I also like females for that same reason......females also have a black spot on their dorsal fin i believe, males lack that spot. They are mean either way...i have a female and i bought her like 6mo after i had my maled Firemouth she ended up passin him in size and started whoopin his butt in the 90gal i had at the time. she are mean for their size. you're gonna need a larger tank than a 55 to house it w/ a Firemouth i'll tell ya that right meow
I have a male at about 5 1/2 inches and hes a naty little turd. Starts a lot of fights and then runs away. Always sniping as fish cruise by but he is preety cool imo.
Females do look nicer with their red on the belly but go with what you want,

so you dont think that they could live in the same tank togeater, if i just got the sal what elss could go in there
Sals are one of my favorite fish but they give me lots of grief... You never know what you can keep them with. I have a male that will only tolerate bottom fish. A female that will kill anything including bottom fish. A female that I have in my community tank that just keeps to herself.
I don't advocate buying till it works but if you have another tank to remove the FM if things go wrong put them together and keep an eye out. They have decent teeth and are very fast, they can do alot of damage quick. Enjoy your Salvini.
