I would think it should benefit fish only as well, since it's a porous clay substrate it should hold bacteria very well, kinda like the way ceramic balls in the filters would do. That's allot of the reason why it benefits plants so well is because of this I think, plus the nutrients.
But it's one of the most expensive substrates is why it's not as popular as it should be.
 
Does anybody have a place in the greater Seatac area where I can get A Giant Gourami? I'm in Tacoma and of course can't find any around here. Seattle maybe? Also what can I expect to pay? Looking for something small right now to grow out. Redtail or normal grey. Thanks for any tips.

PetPourii in Everett has 2, 1 reg grey one and one pink colored one. $40 each...

midway fish/pet in federal way has a regular GG, but its $60:eek:
