Yesterday i noticed a small white stringy thing on my male jag, its right above his mouth. Well today its multiplied times ten. All parameters are in check, i feed him Hikari Gold with occasional market shrimp (probably been a month since last shrimp). Hes in a 100G with another jag. I dont feed them feeders. Could it possibly be HITH?, it doesnt look like it. Nothings been added to the tank either. Here's some quick shots i took:

add salt to the water and see if that helps

have the 2 jags been fighting, perhaps it is an injury that got infected a bit

He has been pushing her around alot more than usual but they havnt really been locking on one another, just him pushing her away to her corner.

my oscar had that to and i left it alone then 2 days later it died still dont know wat it was though but my largemouth bass got it and i added salt and he was fine

I just testing my trates again and they're alot higher than the first test. Bout to run up to the store and get some salt and do a w/c.

sounds like a plan hopefully everything will solve itself once you do wc and put in some salt GOOD LUCK

did a good size w/c and added some salt. I took out a piece of hollow wood and there was all kinds of junk inside it. I think that may be the culprit on the nitrates being so high. Looked like a bunch of poop and uneaten food. Also cleaned some of the media in the canister. Hopefully his head clears up by mornin

Same thing happened in my tank two days ago. I did a 50% water change and added a lot of salt. It started clearing up that same day. Today all of my fish are fine. Hope everything works out.
