Actually the fine can be as high $10,000.00 and a year in jail and yes they do enforce the law all it takes is one mad friend or one post on a forum to bust you

I want one but not with that kind of risk. Of course I've kept small mouth bass before but I don't know if it carried that high of a penalty
i think there was a rule about owning arowanas before the ban. if u had it before they banned it, they're supposed to let u keep it. your thinking about snakeheads. they dont tolerate that.
Yes at the time arrows were grandfathered in.Snakehead ownership were just out and out banned by certain states and even cities eg not only are they banned in Illinois but also within the city limits of Chicago-Anne
