what's in the QT?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I believe should treat for several weeks then as long as acting normal and no sign of infection then into the main tank.
Sounds good! Thank you! Will also give me time to see how the plants do in the main tank...and also figure out a light fixture. Maybe they will have some at Home Depot?

You could get one of the those cheap metal flood lamps and an led bulb for peanuts. Using it on my 75 gal atm...broke the bulb though smh

Hers an Amazon link to the 4' Sunblaster with reflector. Not the cheapest I've seen them but it's a starting point. I do like that you can hang them or just set them on the tank as is. Also, they come with a connecting chord so you can join then together and run them in a bank off the same timer.

LED's are now very affordable and a good choice as well :)

I do like how it comes in the 6400k you were talking about. My main concern is how I'm going to mount it over the aquarium. I know I can't put holes in the ceiling, so I will have to figure out a way to either attach it to the aquarium or hang it over the aquarium(without attaching to ceiling). It said something about clips being included, but idk if these would work with an aquarium or aquarium lids. Do you know? cause if so, I'll get it :)

Also found this mount? https://www.amazon.com/Future-Harve...rd_wg=qaq1I&psc=1&refRID=0EFW3RVP119VKAZ908R1

Do you have any LEDs that you would recommend that have the little clip mounts/feet to prop above the tank? I do like the idea of being able to change out a bulb if it burns out though,

The clips that are included could be used to hang or attach the underside of a surface like this one on my fly tying desk:

I don't use the clips for the tanks, just lay them on my glass tops like so:

I don't have much insight into LED as I purchased these before LED's became affordable. They look like a very good option that I will explore when next in the market though. I'm sure our poly colleagues will have good suggestions though :)

I put aluminium roof insulation foil in a gutter then drilled 2 holes per light, one on either end, then cable ties the light in. My fish don't like the super bright light though

Doesnt have to hang can just rest on the glass lids.60w led bulb. Dpesnt light the whole tank and is bright where the beam is concentrated. Mess with different watt bulbs...just return them until you find the brightness level you like
