+1 on the mikita tools. Also look into the new impact drill bits by milwaukee. There are driver bits as well as drills. They have a center section that twists instead of snapping.

Makita 10.8 volt cordless Drill/Impact Driver combo. Small enough to fit in a tool bag and powerful enough to handle pretty much any project. Makita 4 3/8" circular saw, perfect for freehand cutting and ripping. Lightweight and strong. DeWalt impact bits. I own other power tools but they mostly stay in the shop.
