Crazily it will also depend on which gallons you are talking about, US or UK for example as 300g in both means two different sized tanks.

They grow so fast if kept properly. I knew someone who grew a black aro from juvenile (less than 8") to 29" in a pond within 2 years. So even a 300g wide (30") wouldn't be enough for the life of a black aro.
But a 300g UK tank of 96 long and 24 deep would be 36” wide. (1364 litres not 1136 litres)
Still not suggesting it’s really big enough but that extra 6” means a 300g UK tank may have been an option.
Just highlighting that we need to know if it’s not standard USG.
I’ve fallen down a number of times on here answering a question based on my experience using UK g only to realize that the info I have given was rubbish when considered in US g.
