Whats my little mottled catfish?

Here is a pic of one I used to have. Would love to get another one. As you can tell they should not be trusted with any fish less than 1/2 their size.

At this time he was about 7" and the angel was full grown. Unreal. The cat lived by the way after I netted him and removed the angel. The angel did not survive.

Mine got to be around 8-9" and pretty thick. Very cool fish. He loved shrimp pellets and when kept with fish they cannot eat are very non-aggressive.

Ha ha,cool,il keep an eye on him when he gets a bit bigger,i dont think there is anything he could eat at the moment lol

Good question. When I got mine he was in bad shape. His barbles had rotted off and he was thin. Probably around 5-6" long. Within a year he was full grown at 8-9" and his barbles had grown back. I feed him well and he was in a 125 gallon.

Picked a bit bigger one up from richard today jp,alot more yellow than the little guy though but hes gone in with the dats as i thought he may eat the little one lol.


Whats the best diet for them?

As for the cats....Well, we didn't move the car. We moved out, and bought a house! I now have a two car, fully finished garage dedicated as a fish room. I haven't posted photos of the move or the new setup. It's been crazy busy, but I think a new giant picture thread on all this will be up in the next week or two. I'll be putting it in my signature when its up.
