whats so "great" about discus?

I would say their color, shape, and patterns. I have more people compliment my discus than any other fish.

What surprised me about them is how aggressive they can be during feeding. I was worried they would never get any food in my tank, but that's not a problem at all.

All that being said....I don't know if they are worth as much as people want to sell them for.

I've kept and bred them for quite sometime....And I can't tell you why!!!!!!!! Good question....Why am I beating myself up with these fish when I could put an oscar in a tank and change 25% of the water once a month? I really need to re-evaluate my hobby.

They are more of challenge to breed when you want to try omthing different...

They fly just like frisbees, which gives you something to do when you kill them.
