CAE get more territorial and aggressive as they age/grow and also less good as algae eaters, a bit like most plecs.
dont bank on bristlenose being a good worker. i had one and still had to clean my glass every week so i adopted fast growing plants to out compete for nutrients. the best solution up to now is by far the plants, elodea densa to be exact. they have a dual purpose for my grazing uaru and for algae. he was very lazy.
BN plecs can also be very aggressive. and i dont care what anyone says about it, they can be. my male used to fight my gold saum who had 3" on him and still won, he killed a bulldog plec and was not too shy about telling my super aggressive sev where to go either.

Whats a BN pleco?

If you have excess algae consider more water changes or reducing fish and lighting. Never get a fish as a miralce algae cure, it doesn't work like that. Some algae eaters also prefer certain algae, some only the smallest baby organisms.

There isnt really a fish that will clean your aquarium for you. As a fishkeeper that is your job, theres not really many jobs you need to do to maintain a fishtank..... However there are plenty of species of catfish and other fish that will munch on some types of algae.

:iagree: so true. elbow grease is the only way to really get rid of algae.
