Lately I've been having a lot of issues with fin rot. It's claimed at least half a dozen of my fish (all guppies). I first noticed it after I added several guppies to my 10 gallon. I then tried treating it with salt but stopped after I noticed that one of my guppies began losing it's color and swimming funny. I then tried using API Melafix, but that only made it worse (particularly with the Betta). I stopped using that did a few water changes and then tried Microbe-Lift Artemiss. That seemed to stop the fin rot from getting any worse, but the fish didn't have show any improvement. Last week I lost 2 more guppies (one to dropsey {this was the one that reacted badly to the salt} and one to fin rot). I've been doing several 50% water changes a week, but no improvement. Does anyone know of a good antibiotic for curing fin rot? I was thinking of Paraguard, but I haven't had any experience with it.

- The Betta has never behaved aggressively around any of the guppies, so I know it's not the problem.

The best treatment is treating the underlying cause.

With that said is ur water quality up to par? Aggression from other guppies? Fed quality foods? Etc.

Since I’m a med pusher. I’d suggest trying tetracycline as it has some good success and tolerable.
