whats up guys, i just got a red tex and am looking to buy some red enhancer sinking pellets. what have you all seen good results from?

Fresh krill is absolutly the best natural red enhancer your going to find. They are packed with astaxanthin and the shell is really easy for the fish to swallow which is where a majority of the astaxanthin resides.

I've never had experience with Grand sumo, But ChingMix Maxima and headbooster are great products. I've personally noticed a change in my fish when feeding Ching Maxima and XO humpyhead. Be weary of the source you get these feeds from. If the seller doesnt have a good reputation, find somebody else. Ebay has some reliable vendors.
Make sure to feed a varied diet. These enhancers are not made to be a staple, And the fish will get very sick if its the only feed offered to him.

Hmm, that's odd. I feed my fish with CM SP100 both Maxima and Headbooster as a staple without any issue. I know quite a few people who have been feeding their fish with CM SP80 and SP100 as staple without issue either. The only CM that really gave issue if fed as a staple is the SP50, these are the ones with roids. Now off the market because of the customer complaints with fish and their liver issue. But on one subject, it helps the fish that has been drugged to be infertile to have a higher chance of being fertile.

Huh? Im sure you already know most breeders take care of that before the fish reaches the market.

I havent seen SP50 for many years TBH. That was the 1st feed Chingmix ever released and claimed to be all-natural hormone free as well. The maxima formula changed 4 time since then, But I would bet the synthetic hormones are still there. Hence why FDA has no involvement and you can only get it from specialty sources.
Ive seen many many reports of color enhance overdoses due to ching, Meaning lose of pearls, color, and head. Look on any FH forum and you will see this all over the place from people who feed too much with no variety.
Dont get me wrong Ching is one of the best enhancers next to Hai feng, But the ingredients cant compete with brands like Omega One and NLS.
Comparing the 2 you can clearly see which is more natural. Fish meal, or whole salmon? Shrimp meal or Whole shrimp? Pure Spirulina Maxima (whatever the hell that is) or Fresh Kelp. The feeds do contain highly concentrated vitamins but cant compete with other brands in quality.
People will contest both brands, but the proof is in the pudding. The quality ingredients just arent there, And seeing how my own fish react to it suggests something other than all natural. I highly doubt Ching is changing their formula due to customer complaints of liver issues.

IMO skip the Asian made crap, and feed a quality food that's made in the USA where regulations control the use of hormones etc. :grinno:

That would be incorrect.

While Antarctic Krill has a very high level of astaxanthin, nothing comes even close to the level of astaxanthin found in the micro-algae Haematococcus pluvialis.

Or if you really don't care about synthetic enhancement, vs natural, go get hooked up with Tony & you can all have blood red fish swimming around in your tank.

In terms of having all the nutrients? Nope. But being fed as a staple without issue with great results? Yes.
Regardless of what the bag put in claiming it is natural and free of hormone or not, I could careless. I only look for results, not what it says on the label. I've seen and talked to many who claim that SP50 has roids and will give liver issue to your fish. SP80 doesn't seem to give much of an issue to a lot of CM users but to some extent some fish die for no reason. And the SP100 is the healthiest of them all.
FYI - They use birth control pills to infertile some of their best top fish to keep their strain from being bred. :D
