250watt visi-therm stealths are the only trustworthy heater IMO. Just recently I've had a problem with them keeping my bigger tanks (100+ gallons) warm though (I use 2 on large tanks.) I got a theo 300watt submersible heater for free though and that thing can kick out some heat quickly. It heats my 120gallon easily by itself. I think next time I'm in the market for another heater I will look more into these. For a 75gallon just get a marineland visi-therm stealth from petsmart. They will pricematch their online price which is usually about $21-22.

I have a Stealth and Jager Heater. I think the best heater I've had was a Rena. I wish I could see a light from the Stealth to see if it's working or not, but that's my only complaint. The Jager are pretty nice, but they seem bigger than most heaters. The Rena was thick and the temperature was consistant...seemed to work the best for me.

I like ebo-jagers but they're not supposed to be completely submerged which is lame. They are shatterproof, but when you have a 13" fish pull one out of the suction cups thats holding it down and beat it into your glass you'll be more worried about your tank rather than your heater breaking, at least I was lol.

Arguably, the top three heaters are stealth, theo, and jagers. I personally reccomend a theo, which is what I use with absolutely no problems.

hydor heaters are the way to go no hearter in the tank what more can you ask

i have been running the hydor 300w external for 3yrs no problems
