yes buttis are african but more resemble sa/ca so im inluding them cause its my thread and buttis rule.

I've always kept Buttikoferi since I was about 15 or so, i've never been able to keep one past 7" though, my biggest was a weak 5". Im really hoping this one I have now will mature in my collection. Lifes a bit more stable now ;p


But i have to disagree, they don't really resemble CA/SA cichlids, they look like Africans to me.

i like the subtle colors and classic kind of colors that these fish have. they don't have to scream bright red like a female festae (which is crazy awesome) for me to like them. that's part of my list... i still have more in my head, but can't think now
