whats the best way to collect gar?

i am in georgia but will be collecting in alabama and i think you can only have one per day if i am not mistaken i know they do have a limit on the gator gar but i am after longnose or spotteds.

you don't really want to use dip net again gator gar here, lots of them are around 5-6ft(I don't really know if there are the small gator around here but I'm not after them) and quite a few people had lost their dip net to them!

well the results are in i didnt have any luck there was alot of boat traffic where i was at too plus we got rained out.
