What’s the biggest personally owned aquarium that you have seen in person (real life, not pictures)?

Note that I said “aquarium”. This will include DIY tanks with at least one full glass wall (or otherwise see through wall) but not tubs, ponds or pools…

Note that I said "personally owned" meaning owned by an individual in their home, office or similar. This rules out public aquarium, Pet Store aquariums or any other commercial use aquariums.



My answer is 500 gal... Owned by a friend in our local fish club...

I don't remember the exact size, but I was at a bait store when I was a kid. In the shop where the owner parked his car and boat was a huge plywood tank w/ viewing windows. He had Muskie in there. I was awe struck.

I seen a 300 gallon used as a room divider in a basement..Glad i wasnt there close friend when they first got it. Wonderfull old stairs we have all fell on after a few cold ones..Cant imagine getting it down the steps.I heard a story about 4 wheeler winches were involved,Still kinda scary LOL..
