Rob has one that's over 27" As far as I know (and that's not saying much) that's the largest in the U.S. and it's currently for sale. I have heard of a few P.B.B.s that were over 2'

Now that's cool stuff. I would take a poly that size. I had a 16" ornate before but ornates are not the coolest bichers ever.

This is a good thread. We all know the max sizes from the primer, I think it is a common thought to wonder what the largest in captivity is, or how big one of ours may get.

I have 2 endi's that I dream about growing to the 30" mark, however reality is they will be no where near that size and will likely be hard pressed to get larger than my ornate.

Thanks for posting those pics, they are incredible, awhile back someone had posted the pic of two people in a wading pool with what looked to be a 3 foot bichir.

wow i never thought they get so big. i have seen big ornate bichirs but nothing like that. what about common bichirs? how big do they get? i have 3 of them about a year old. more or less 10 inches in length but doesnt have enough bodymass to be something special.
