even though that is a huge tank, especially in terms of weight, I would think that because of the length of that tank, its not as risky as one might think it is.
as I mentioned in another thread, a tank like that (8 feet?) is probably easier on wood flooring than a standard 30" tall 220g 6 foot tank on the same type of floor..
the weight on a 240 that is 8 feet long is more spread out and will straddle more joists than a 220g. that extra 6" of height on the 30" tall tanks is brutal for weight distribution. its so damn concentrated..
