whats up with arowanas, people are always talking about how they are the sweetest fish ever, but personally I think they are ugly. Is there something about these fish that I'm missing(I have never had one)

:iagree: very soothing to watch, they seem to glide rather than swim.....the list could go on and on.

They are wonderful fish, you need to look into them, they have great personalities, and swim with such grace. I was lucky to have a black arowana in my care for 5 years, he just recently jumped to his death...I do miss him alot! :(

Jen ;)

:babyblack i've had my share of tropical and cold water fish over the years, and the arowana i recently aquired is by far the most wonderful fish ive ever owned. i need a larger tank so i can get more.

i love aro's also so graceful.
i love owning my own dragon!

To eatch their own. I love arowanas...can't wail till I have one. I won't list reasons to you why they are great fish, visit a place that has one...seeing them in person is a lot better then pictures.

I agree with all above. When I was a kid I thought they were one of the most freakiest looking fish ever and didn't like them one bit. But when I grew older I grew to like them, but when I finally got to own them, I fell in love with them.

One of the most graceful and beautiful fish to own. I used to have a Scleropages jardini in a 125. They grow quite large and require a very large aquarium. He is now in a 240 by himself. Additionally, jardinis are quite aggressive and will be intolerant of others in their aquarium.

they live long and bring good luck to the person who cares for it and im not even asian (the asian arowana is the king of the aquarium)

i wouldnt keep a tank if i didnt have a aro
